How Immersive Learning is Transforming Classrooms with Reframe

What if students could step into the roles of NASA scientists, conduct real-world experiments, and interact with complex concepts in a way that feels like second nature? That’s exactly what Reframe is making possible. In a recent episode of Pitch Playground, founder Jonathan Teske shared how his mixed reality platform is redefining the way students engage with learning.

Beyond the Textbook: Learning by Doing

Traditional classrooms often struggle to make abstract scientific concepts tangible. But what if students could see and manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum instead of just reading about it? With Reframe, they can.

“We wanted to allow students to role-play as NASA scientists,” Jonathan explained. In this immersive lesson, students don headsets and find themselves inside a 360-degree simulation featuring the James Webb Space Telescope. Using interactive controls, they manipulate wavelengths to uncover celestial bodies hidden in different spectrums of light.

Instead of passively watching a video, students actively engage with the content, reinforcing key STEM concepts through experience rather than memorization.

Why Immersive Learning Works

Research has shown that students learn best when they are actively involved in their learning. Mixed reality tools like Reframe offer:

  • Engagement: Students become participants in their lessons, making learning more memorable.
  • Collaboration: Learning is social—students work together, discussing and problem-solving in real time.
  • Retention: When students interact with content in a hands-on way, they retain information better than through passive learning methods.

Jonathan’s vision goes beyond just making lessons more exciting—he wants to make deep learning accessible for all students.

The Future of the Classroom

Reframe is proving that immersive learning isn’t just a novelty—it’s the next step in education. By integrating mixed reality into classrooms, teachers can transform how students engage with science, history, and even storytelling.

With schools increasingly looking for ways to boost student engagement and fight learning loss, tools like Reframe could be a game-changer. As Jonathan puts it:

“A classroom is a system… You need to be able to adapt the technology to that system, not change the system to fit the technology.”

By meeting students where they are—with engaging, interactive experiences—Reframe is setting a new standard for education.
